Title: Why not WinLame?
Post by lesserdeity on Sep 9th, 2001 at 5:46am
Hello,

I'm new here so I may have overlooked this.  In reading the various pages I noticed that it was recommended to download LAME then install RazorLame as a GUI front end to it.  However, WinLame is available as a complete GUI application from the LAME website and requires no compiling or anything - it's just ready to go.  Is there some reason WinLame should not be used?

Thanks,
Ray Mitchell

Are you aware of Win32Lame?  It packages both Lame and Razorlame together, thus eliminating the steps that Lesser pointed out above (download LAME then install RazorLame seperately).

See  http://r3mix.net/    Click on the "News" section, and on that page there is a link to download Win32lame provided at the very top under the "Current Recommended Encoder" box.

Most current version of Win32lame v1.7 (Razorlame 1.1.4 and Lame v3.90)

Kang,

No win32 'release' binaries have been released yet. See here:
