I don't need to go to that site to tell you that go get SP1 for XP. I forgot if the release date is Aug. 28, but by all means, have yourself a copy.

I should point out tho that if your CD key starts with FCK, forget SP1 and try to ask around on what you should do about it.

According to a few sources if you have the fckgw key there is a work around for getting sp1 for xp - supposedly you can download the sp1 through win2k and load it on xp...I know a few people who have done this and it has worked, but sounds like a headache to me. Here is a workaround I found out on the web.

Just a few words about sp1. I downloaded it about 6 weeks ago and it caused numerous problems on my pc, windows slowed right down making it almost impossible to use and some programs didn't work at all. I then partioned my HD and installed 2 copies of xp. on 1 partition i downloaded sp1 just to see what happened and lo and behold it worked fine with no problems. Since then i have updated the other system with no problem either mmmmmmmmm strange ?
