Still I have a question :
which program writes that cookie to my harddisk.
Is it IE-the browser or some program
on the webserver?
some script on the login page ?

Heck if I know. I'd guess it's IE cuz it's IE that accesses web sites and you can delete them thru your IE Options menu.
