Title: NTFS Boot disk
Post by Citizen_Kang on Nov 24th, 2002 at 11:31am
Hey Rad,

This link to a NTFS boot disk was posted by someone on Storage Review.  Don't know if you've seen/heard about it before, but thought it might interest you.

Cheers, CK

PS.  Just read the front page and was touched.   Sounds like you now have some firsthand experience with Ben Franklin's adage that "those things that hurt....instruct".   Anyways, glad your feeling happier.

Yeah. Thanks for the note .. and the link. Downloaded already.

I gues this let's you read NTFS partitions from DOS, yes.

I know there was a software utility that let you do this. I thought it was $hareware. Perhaps I'm thinking of this:

http://www.winternals.com/products/fct/ntfswin98.asp

or this:

http://www.winternals.com/products/repairandrecovery/ntfsdospro.asp

look at that! -> $300 for that utility.

Which is about $480 CDN.......no thanks.

I checked out the boot disk that I posted about above...it'll find a home in my digital toolbox because it might come in handy every blue moon or so, however, its likely another tool that will collect a lot of digital dust.
