Well I object to the reason. The unnamed friend seems to have forgotten that Margret Thatcher did indeed send their sons to war.

And never forget the present queen who also sent her son Andrew into the Falklands war.

So the argument cuz they'd never send their sons to war
is IMHO a faked argument.(a lie).
