Hi, I just installed v9.0 on an XPSP2 machine (downloaded from Symantec site). I applied the SP2 fixes as outlined and the install went fine, no BSOD, however after launching Ghost, I get the message "cannot connect to agent, service not running". I checked all the dependent services I found on thier tech site and all appear to be up and running ok. One thing I though was odd, is that I was never asked for my serial #/activation code? There is also no such item like "activate trial version" or anything in any of the menus. I thought I rembered seeing "no activation  necessary" when I started the dl, but I thought this was odd anyway.

Any ideas? After searching I'm wishing I had 2003. Thx

Paul,

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Ghost 9?

Can you boot into the Recovery Environment with the CD?

I'm going to uninstall and try again tonight. I have not yet tried to boot from the disc (I know, should have done that first). I have older versions of Internet Security installed, are there any known conflicts there? Thanks
