Title: Ghost2003 - USB speeds in DOS
Post by clevelandtxus on Oct 25th, 2006 at 2:10pm
As a rule of thumb, what is a good range of speeds when creating Ghost backups in DOS using Ghost2003?  I vary between 500 MB to 850 MB per minute, averaging somewhere over 700 MB on either of my two USB drives.  Image check numbers are almost double.

I always run with fast compression.

Not sure about USB drives, which are going to be slolwer, but 1000MB/min between two different late-model internal drives is a healthy x-fer rate. So 700 with USB is seems great.

Sounds like excellent performance based on my own experience.  Results can vary with file system format, but it sounds like you are enjoying an optimal setup for USB.
