I have created a ghost image of my laptop and I have a large file, pst file, that is 7gigs. When I try to extract it with Ghost it will only get about half way done and say it is complete. is there a issue with ghost and large files?

It certainly sounds that way, but we'd need to do some investigation. In addition to any help you get here, it pays to ask this question at the official GSS forums, http://forums.symantec.com/discussions/forum.jspa?forumID=109 - one extra piece of information we'd need is what version of the GSS product you have so we can see whether the work we've done with Ghost Explorer since the one you currently have is likely to help you get your file out of your images (which I presume is a set split on 2Gb boundaries).
