You mighta noticed I changed the forum's config to "Icon + Text".

Most admins feel this looks best.

Default is Icons-only. So the 'text' part is new. Have never tried that option before.

You like?

The icons/graphics use more bandwidth than text, so the board shouldn't be any slower.

Just to be *contrary*--the new look is okay, but I liked the original better :) --just the buttons with the text--cleaner look (my opinion)--the board's default sizes are so small on my system--I can hardly tell what the icon picture depicts--and changing browser *View* settings for *Text Size* has no effect--apparently the CSS forum style sheets has priority over the browser settings!!

you can change it back. the setting is listed under forum settings .. near the top.

i run 1280x800 on my laptop. what rez you running?

1280 x 960 on a spare 17" CRT for the moment--my 19" CRT died a 6-8 weeks ago--looking into a LCD monitor for a replacement.

I noticed that on a friend's LCD monitor with a similar resolution, that the default forum size appears much larger than on my system--I don't quite understand the reason for the difference!

I tried the 'medium' setting for a while, but it looks too first-grade-like on my screen .. went back to normal black_gray3d.

it's nice to try diff settings. sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

I prefer the 'radio buttons' as well. I might mention that both the 'turnaround' when editing and the general forum response time have markedly improved of late here on the Gulf Coast.

the options are:

Icons only (default)
Text only
Icons + Text

I will change it back .. after a few days.

I've been out for awhile, and I'll say I was amazed at the newer look. Change is good, thanks for the hard work.
