Title: Ghost 2003 Abort: 662 CAnnot create image file
Post by artesian79 on Jun 13th, 2007 at 5:56pm
I've just completed rebuilding my friend's new computer's OS (Win XP Home).  I'm trying to create a backup image on a partition and not having any luck.

I installed a new 80GB HD which is Primary Master via Cable Select.  I'm attempting to create an image on the old HD which is 40GB.  The system doesn't have any data, just the OS and applications.  The old HD has 2 partitions and is Secondary Master via Cable Select.
Both filesystems are NTFS.

When I first tried this my destination partition was too small.  I increased the size and then tried again.  I'm using Local, Disk, To Image.  I get the following error:  ABORT:  662, Cannot create image file.

Any idea what the problem is?

Update:  Just to try it I reformatted the destination partition as FAT32 and the session is running.  I thought Ghost 2003 wrote directly to NTFS.  What did I miss?

How much data are you imaging?  Have to have enough room for the image to fit!

Ghost 2003 will save to NTFS without any problems--at least on my system!
