Title: Downloading guides?
Post by houdini65 on Sep 10th, 2007 at 3:01pm
I've been reading the various guides in preparation of setting up three pc's for my mom, little brother and myself.  I've installed different versions of XP before, but I want to do these in an orderly and easily recovered way since mom clicks on everything "accidentally" & little brother does the same and more out of curiosity.

So... I noticed that it said the different guides (fdisk, Ghost guide, and ASPI guide) had been downloaded, but I havn't found any link to the files.  The only way I've downloaded and printed one for use with the pc off is to copy&paste.  Am I missing something obvious, because it's happened before.  lol

Thanks,
Kay

hi.

i used to maintain a printer-friendly and downloadable PDF version of all the guides ..

but that simply got to be too much work.

there are still PDFs here:

http://radified.com/pdf/

but they are not current.

only so many hours in the day.

i'm brushing up on my css now, which should make it easy to craft a printer-friendly version that way (using css). just finished another chapter today.

I was doing the copy&paste then attempt convert to pdf.  Love the site, learning a lot.  It's good to exercise the grey matter. ;)

Thanks,
Kay

well, i learned how to crank-out the css code for the printer-friendly styles, but still in the learning phase, for learning more css.

if i transition over to doing from learning, b4 i'm done learning, it will take me out of the flow.

Forget the fancy stuff!

The one format that is usable on every Windows computer everywhere is ".rtf" (rich text format) easily readable or printable on any computer with 'Wordpad'.

I've written several tutorials that I share, from my website, and they are all in " .rtf " format.

For computers operated by "others" who can't stop clicking on things, having two partitions with a Ghost Image of C: on the second partition is just good "insurance" against disaster.

Just a thought!

Hee Hee!

I'm using the white/light blue theme, so it's usually transparent on my screen anyway.

;)
