Title: Multiple machine Ghost solution required.
Post by Zante on Jan 17th, 2008 at 5:50am
Please please please, if anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

I'm starting to run out of ideas on this  >:(, but here's my basic requirement. I need a solution for the following:

1. Save/Restore images on both Windows XP Pro and Windows 2000 platforms

2. Save/Restore compatibility for both IDE/SATA interfaces

3. The ability to boot a PC and restore an image from the same media device, i.e. USB flash drive or USB External hard drive.

We have approximately 20 PC's to cover with this requirement.

So far Ghost 10 is the only package that covers all of the above. Naturally, being a Home user package, it makes this excercise pretty expensive!

Is there an multiple/open user licence for Ghost 10?

Or, can anyone recommend a package that covers all of the above with a multiple licensing option?

Many Thanks

:)

The *enterprise* (corporate) version of Classic Ghost is probably what you need:

Gooogle Search--*ghost solution suite 2.0*.

Symantec's Pricing

There may be resellers that have better prices:

PriceWatch Search--Ghost

I agree. I bought licenses thru bestbuybusiness online and it runs about $160 for 5 licenses and with increased quantity, the price will be lower. With purchase of licenses, you are able to download the program and most of the on-line sales is for the CD which you do not need. One license is needed per machine. I do not know of unlimited license for the Ghost Solution Suite. Bite the bullet and purchase the licenses and you will not go wrong.

There's no unlimited version as such; support (for all that customers complain about it) still costs an enormous amount of money to provide, after all.

Those price bands on the website only cover installations up to 1000 seats, but we do have plenty of customers much, much larger than that. There is upgrade pricing available and more for customers who are looking at serious volume, but at those scales you need to be talking to enterprise sales to structure the deal (which at that level probably involves multiple products).
