I'm trying to ghost (14) my new vista business sony laptop to a usb drive.
The sony C drive is ntfs (about 100g) but only about 30g used.  The usb is fat32 160G, with a lot of free space. when I try to do my first backup I get "server generated and error " 80010105.

any help would be appreciated .

thanks , I cleared the recent documents, and it got a bit further on.
About 90% done, Then I got an error 800706be, and on top of this message was a second that said "this program is unable to connect and communicate with ghrost backup service on Ultra (the name of my pc). However don't know if this last message is significative as I had started the backup and walked away from my pc, can back a good 30 minutes later - the pc was not in screen saver mode.

If its possible add the error log screen shot. Is it a new computer? If not try running the check disk & disk defragmentation and check. Post us if any.

I didn't add the log screen shot because it is in french ;-)
The pc is brand new, and don't think any files have even been deleted, at least not manually.

BUT it is now working. My problem was my usb disk. It was a FAT32. Once I converted it to ntsf, all worked great.
