Hello
I own Ghost Solution Suite 2.0.

I want to restore *.gho image file from my laptop's backup CD.

I just noticed: Symantec's website says:

you can NOT restore .GHO image files using Norton Ghost 12.0, 14.0, or NS&R 2.0

My Question: WHERE DO I BELONG :-? ?
i believe ghost solution suite 2.0 is "ghost 11.0"? (GOD CURSE >:( SYMANTEC for producing 14 versions in 4 years!!!!!!!)

You are in the correct forum.

Ghosts 9 and 10 could restore .gho files. In fact, Ghost 10 could create .gho files.

That's right.

You own the correct software for creating/restoring .gho files. That's an unusual choice for a newbie. What made you decide on Ghost Solution Suite 2.0?

OMG! ;D I lucked out for once. A friend of mine in IT department at University of Arizona recommended me! So even though i have ghost 11 i can use .gho files!

It seems like symantec has so pumped up over the years what was originally a very pithy and beautiful app [what with client server, vista deployment marketing...makes me wanna barf]!!

Why... just the basic "imaging" and "restoring" are enough!

It scares me just to read the documentation!!
I am crawling through it slowly...digesting.. radified guide is more helpful.

I don't plan on doing a full install of this beast. I just want the basic image/restore functionality. I read some posts here that said all you basically need are gho.exe and a boot floppy ::)!!!

Yes, indeed all you need is ghost.exe. How are you planning to do the restore via network or floppies..
