Title: How to create o create a Symantec Recovery Disk CD Ghost 12
Post by Henrik Aaby-Ericsson on Nov 3rd, 2008 at 7:38am
Hi im new to Ghost version 12.
And i want to save a complete image of my pc on en external usb drive. If i understand everyting ok, The best way is to run a full backup of my c: drive to the usb disk "Recovery Point" And do this by the wizard One Time backup. "My data dont change on this pc"

But to restore the data i need to create a Symantec Recovery Disk CD. This where im comming to a stop.
I go to:
To create a custom Symantec Recovery Disk CD
1 Start Norton Ghost.
2 Attach and turn on all storage devices and network devices that you want to
make available.
3 Insert the Symantec Recovery Disk CD into your CD-ROM drive.
4 From the main Norton Ghost window, click File > Create Recovery Disk, and
then click Next.
5 If prompted, click Browse, select the drive that contains the Symantec
Recovery Disk CD, click OK, and then click Next.

Should i at this point browse to the location of the backuped ghost image. Or is this the location of my cd drive?

Restore
When the Recovery Disk CD is made. If im able to get it to work. Should i just boot on it. And then in the software started after booting is it just to point out the ghost image and then restore?

Very thankful for anny help i get get.
Best Regards Henrik

Henrik,

You already have the Symantec Recovery Disk CD. Boot from it. If you can see your HDs and Network you don't need to build a custom disk as a custom disk won't work any better than the original.
