Title: You have a new hero! EASIER way to do Nightowl Method...
Post by musicmakesmelive on Aug 7th, 2009 at 3:41pm
Hi All. I want to thank Nightowl for the awesome tutorial that I used and worked 100% perfectly.

HOWEVER, it does not include the ability to do Ghostcasting or P2P sharing. I believe I have solved this.

(For Symantec Ghost Enterprise Version 8.2)

1. Make your bootable floppys (2 discs) using the "Network Boot Disk"
2. The tricky part is getting DOS drivers for your network card, they can be found in your installer cd
3. Make the two floppys like usual, and test it to see if it works
4. Visit this page http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/convert.html
5. This will tell you how to make those two floppys into a burnable CD.
6. This works perfectly, and way easier than the NightOwl way.

any questions, please e-mail productionse@gmail.com

Sounds good but not many people here own Symantec Ghost Enterprise Version 8.2. Mostly we have Ghost 2003 so that's what we work with.

Thanks for your reference--that is an interesting alternative method for creating bootable optical discs.

Never said that *my way* was the *best* or *easiest* way to create a bootable optical disc!  On the first page of my Guide, you will find this statement:

Okay, so possible solutions by the numbers, from easiest to less easy:  To avoid this Guide--install a floppy disk drive!

If you click on that link, you will find this explanation:  Okay, so possible solutions by the numbers, from easiest to less easy:

But, please note the title of the Guide:  Creating Bootable CD/DVD's Without A:\Floppy Drive

The method you have referenced is quiet good--but, it doesn't solve the problem of not having a floppy drive available--your referenced method does require a floppy drive!
