i want to create a bootable cd with ghost32.exe on it.

i want to boot into windows.

i want to put ghost32.exe on it, and boot from the cd into windows xp  and run ghost32.exe.

i want to use it on an otherwise unbootable xp sp2 computer .

suggestions ?

ps i can create bootable floppy and bootable cd ok, but it boots into caldera dos which can run ghost 2003, but i want to run ghost32.exe which requires windows to run.

A BartPE CD will work with ghost32.exe. There is a plugin to add your files.

ghost32.exe will run from any WinPE or VistaPE disk. You can even boot from a Ghost 14 CD and run ghost32.exe from a USB flash drive or from a hard drive.

That's *good to know*!  I wasn't aware that that option existed!

I know that the Ghost 10 Installation CD that boots the *Recovery Environment* (Ghost's version of WinPE) has the utility to access *Legacy Ghost Image Files*--it's called  *RESTOREGHOST.EXE* on that installation disc--and that's just a *renamed* version of Ghost 8.xx's *ghost32.exe*!  That program has the ability to do both Restores and Creation of DOS-based Ghost image files--just can't use it to save Ghost images to optical media.  Also, can do direct cloning of drives or partitions between HDDs.

This is how to do it...

boot from the Ghost 14 CD
set Time Zone
click Analyze from the menu on the left side
click "Explore My Computer"
click on the "File" pull down menu
click on "Open"
click Computer on the left
double Click your drive
under "Files of type" at the bottom, choose "All Files (*.*)"
navigate to ghost32.exe (USB stick, etc)
now RIGHT CLICK on "ghost32.exe" and select "Run as Administrator"

Is this a function only available in Ghost 14's Recovery Environment?  How about Ghost 9, 10, and 12's?

12 works. I don't think 9 or 10 do as they are not VistaPE CDs.

You can run several exe files this way. Image for Windows and Drive Snapshot for example.

i already have a win pe of some sort. 

i think it is winternals.

i will look for it before going ahead with g 12 or g 14 or bart pe.

use imgburn to burn the iso to a cd-r
it is hot plug so put A43.exe file manager and ghost32.exe on memory stick
on comand line type F: whre F is drive leter of your memory stick then type A43.exe
to se Gui file manager
then double click ghost32.exe
there is also a way to boot straight into ghost32.exe
I have written instruction on 911bootcd forum some where.

i downloaded bartpe and tried for hours.  could not figure it out.

i bought ghost 14 but never installed it, now i can't find it.

do you think ubcd will work ?
