Title: How to back up Win7 using Ghost 15 Cold Imaging?
Post by Xia Gu Cao on Oct 18th, 2010 at 1:50pm
Hi all,

I would like to back up the entire Windows 7 system using Ghost 15 Cold Imaging, that I could restore the whole system using DVDs only later. However, I don't have an exact idea how to do that. Could someone please guide me in more detailed procedures of using Ghost 15 cold imaging?

Thanks in advance!

@ Xia Gu Cao

I haven't done that but for instructions see page 76 in the Ghost 15 userguide...

"About running a one-time backup from Symantec Recovery Disk"

One suggestion. Avoid using DVDs for backups. They are a most unreliable storage medium and may fail when you need them most. Such as when you want to restore the image. Especially if you have multiple DVDs. Most folks prefer an external HD for storing backup images (recovery points).

How large is your C: drive. How much Free Space is in your C: drive. That will give us an idea of the backup image size.
