Title: Which Drive Letter is which?
Post by eightd2 on Jan 15th, 2012 at 6:08am
To All -
When running a full backup in Ghost 12 everything is fine.  The confusing part is when a resore needs to be done, how to tell what drive the image should restore to.  I have two SATA (500 gb), one IDE (320) and two USBs (500 GB each).  The list of drives to restore from have the drive letters changed and the sizes of the drives of some of the drives are the same so I can't tell if, I am restoring C: to D: or G: when I really just want C: restored.  What is a solution?
Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

Give the drive volumes unique names so you can tell them apart.

You can also make sure no two drives have the same number of partitions--and varying the partition sizes so they are unique on each HDD, can also give you the needed clues as to which drive is which.
