Here's a preview of the upcoming YaBB 3.0:

We are currently using Y2.4.

I actually have Y2.5 installed (the latest release version), but have not yet convetered the forum over to it.

They have been working on Y3 for a couple of years now. It makes use of a database. I'm looking fwd to it.

It makes use of a database.

In previous upgrades, not all the formatting came forward--many links that were embedded using forum code so it showed a text link that was in blue, but the actual address was *hidden* in the coding--the web address from the old forum to the new, I believe you changed, so the links no longer pointed to the correct location.

I know your intent was to separate the old forum from the new while testing--but, in the end--using a new forum address format left all those links *dead*--they just brought one back to the *home* page and not to the actual thread.

I wonder how the various old threads will be incorporated into a new *database* format?
