Open the *config.sys* on the boot floppy with Notepad.  Copy and paste the content to this forum thread.

Do the same for *autoexec.bat* so we can see what's being loaded during the boot process.

Also, you could press F8 right when the system beeps and says it's loading the OS--if you hit the F8 key at the right time, you will get a DOS screen that allows you to select *step-by-step* loading of each of the lines in the boot files one at a time and you can see any error messages.

Is there a line that is supposed to load a *RAMDISK*?  What happens after that line is executed?

thank you.

you got it right.

config.sys did not have ramdisk.sys line in it.

i found an earlier boot floppy i had made and copied the ramdisk.sys line from it.

works well now.

i was concentrating on autoexec.bat and i forgot about config.sys
