i am using ghost 11.5.1.2269
i create backup image of disk with 2 partitions to root of external usb hdd with command:
ghost -auto -span -z9 -split=48
it makes 1x hdd.gho + hdd001.ghs ...... to hdd118.ghs
i make booting 2 DVDs with ghost with contain backup files
i boot, start ghost, select 1st file hdd.gho and restoring proces starts ok
why restoring proces stops and want next part? i think, ghost is clever or not?
i click browse, select next file and ghost show something about decompressing error, but integrity check is OK and ghost explorer can read all parts of backup.

WHAT IS WRONG???
i am starting to be nervous, because i am playing with this about 5 days, trying many variants and nothing work  :-/

Curiosity question--why *-split=48*?  You end up with an awful lot of *.ghs* files (i.e. 118 of them!).  You could use *-split=1494* and end up with 1 *.gho* and two *.ghs* files that will fill a DVD:  CD/DVD Write Option Unavailable

Well, looking at the screen shots you have provided (which are very nice, thank you--there's no doubt as to the errors you are getting), I don't think you are making bootable DVD's--you may be making boot iso files of a bootable DVD that you are dropping on a virtual CD drive of a virtual machine running under some flavor of Windows.  I always wonder what potential additional compounding problems may be introduced when using virtual DOS on a virtual machine.

So, I don't use corporate Ghost v11.xxx--so I don't know if Ghost 11.xxx still works in a similar manor as Ghost 2003 or Ghost 7.5 or Ghost 8.xx--which I have some familiarity with.  But, having said that, let's see if we can fix your problem....

So, the Ghost image file name you have shown is *hdd.ghs* and not *hdd001.ghs*.  I'm having to think that when you created your DVD, you may have renamed your *.ghs* files to a shorter name--is that true?

There's a known issue (i.e. it's the way DOS Ghost works) when using DOS Ghost 2003 or Corp Ghost 8.xx that you have to use the DOS file naming convention of 8.3 format for DOS Ghost to automatically find the next segment of a multi-segment Ghost image file:  Asking for next span file

Are you sure your spanned files on the external HDD were *hdd001.ghs* thru *hdd118.ghs*--I would have expected them to be *hdd00001.ghs* thru *hdd00118.ghs*?

Again, I don't know if Ghost 11.xxx behaves differently now, but I would try using the DOS 8.3 file naming format to see if that solves the problem.
