Formatting/XP/for Ghost 2002
Jan 19th, 2002 at 5:22pm

Just installed a new WD 80Gig. It came with a yellow note saying not to use the EZ Lifeguard Diskette. Used Start,Control Panel,Admin Tool, Computer Management and went to format. The only choice was NTFS, so I formatted. Later I remembered the Rad Guide saying you can't image to an NTFS. I booted up with the EZ Lifeguard diskette and got to the FAT 32 format and formatted into a FAT 32, the same as the existing C: drive. Thanks for the heads up. I am now waiting for the Ghost disk I ordered through your link. Thanks.  Ps. I think the last time I had two HDs and I used the Norton Speed Optimization my computer freaked, died and would not come back. It liked the drive with no OS on it!!!!!

80 gigs .. dang .. you could store a lot of, er, stuff on there.  Wink

You just make 1 big partition?

Some people keep everything NTFS, but have a separate partition dedicated only for Ghost images. Whatever works for you.

Did you read my ditty on Partitioning?:

I've never had a problem with SpeedDisk, tho I have just begun using this new defragger called O&O, which is supposed to be the cat's meow. I like it.

I made one partition on the second HD. Will use Brontosaurus Rex method of backing up data. One big drive to another. I do keep about 5Gig of MP3's on CD/RW/s as well. Looking forward to working with Ghost.

The Brontosaurus method; I like that.

Good luck with Ghost.
