ASPI problem
Mar 25th, 2002 at 7:43pm

Hi,
I tried to follow all the instruction on installing
a new aspilayer on my win98 - ide - system
using forced aspi
after I bought my first plextor burner.
Funny thing is the aspicheck.exe tells me
all is well. No adapter found. Well I have
no SCSI adapter-so that is OK.
But PlextorTools refuses to start and
gives errormessage about installed
aspilayer.
So I looked up radified's list on the files
that should be there  after installing adaptec
ASPI driver 4.6---
And there I missed apienum.vxd
I couldn't  find it on c:
The 3 other files exist in the right directory.
So where can I find apienum.vxd ?
What do I have to do with the registry entry.
Any change necessary ?
The instructions in forced aspi batchfile
like win9x does make sense to me or
did I miss something ?
Any comment is very welcome -

Cheesy
Hi-tried radified method number 2
the Alternate Method  for installing
the aspilayer46 - worked without
problem-must have done something
wrong!
The virtual SCSI adapter was accepted
without problem. ASPI32.exe installed
promptly and aspicheck found my 2
ide controllers.Looks really good.
And eliminated that virtual SCSI adapter
again.
Plextor Tools gave no error message after reboot.
Many Thanks for tip 2.

Cool. You're the first person I know who used the alt method.
