Backup Music CD
Apr 1st, 2002 at 9:38pm

I am very new to CD burning. I want to copy a music CD to another CD.

I have a PlexWriter 16/10/40A burner and A Pioneer DVD.

So I would like to do a Shockedn the Fly Copy.

My Question is Which software program is best suited to do this or does it matter in a straight copy?

I have downloaded Disk to Disk: Oak Simple CD rom, came with my Plextor bundle: Easy CD:
Blind Read , Blind Wright and Clone Cd

Does the brand of blank CDs matter?

I have  both Fugifilm CD-r 700 mb 80 min and Verbatim 1x to 16X Datalife plus 700 MB 80 min

Thank you in advance.

I use Nero for on-the-fly, as it seems to be the easiest.

You have to make sure that the DAE specs of your reader (Pioneer DVD) can keep up with your writer. Not sure, but I think that Pioneer DVDs are not very good at DAE. See if you can find your model here:

You will have probs if you writer writes faster than your reader can rip. So set your writer for a lower speed.

I heard Taiyo Yuden made the best CD-Rs, but just find a brand that works with your burner. I heard that Plextors like TDK. I only have problems with Kodak gold .. for some reason.

Never heard of 'Oak' .. I use Blindread/Blindwrite for CDs with heavy-duty copy-protection. CloneCD also rocks. See their forums for help.
