"error reading fixed disk" (Read 4561 times)

	"error reading fixed disk" Jun 7^th, 2002 at 8:21am After trying to do the FDISK i got this msg:"error reading fixed disk"....what's the problem????? what can i do?????please help...

	Re: "error reading fixed disk" Reply #1 - Jun 7^th, 2002 at 2:17pm new or used disk? what brand model? how are jumpers set? primary or secondary? master or slave? did u successfully partition? if so, how? did u format? if so, what file system? are u a newbie? have you ever partitioned before? what mobo?

Hi, i went to western digital web site and found that if i use only one HD i don't need to set jumpers,just neutral is fine.After i did that i was able to partition the HD and Format it. but now i'm having another problem i can't install Windows XP.it gives me the following msg:"invalid system disk"REPLACE THE DISK, AND THEN PRESS ANY KEY..What's wrong now? what should i do? i try w98 and same problem apear!......the boot sequence is as follow..1.floppy..2.cd rom.3.HD..PLEASE HELP!!!!1
