ghost can't write to your cdwriter

I noticed a hint from alanm on Feb 5th about this, perhaps he could tell me if Joliet and Iso 9660 are equivalent as far as CD burning is concerned,my CD writing s/w(Easy cd creator) gives a choice of one or the other when using it.

Sorry for my delayed response.. I dont check here too often.. The reason I suggested ISO 9660 over Joliet is that it is my impression [correct me if I'm wrong] that ISO 9660 is a more 'generalized' format and more in use than Joliet.. So my reasoning is that should the need arise to access your Ghost image in an emergency [in DOS], ISO 9660 should have a better chance of readability than Joliet.. I havent tried retrieving a Joliet written Ghost image, but I have done so with ISO 9660 many times.. Again I could be wrong about this and Joliet may work just fine..

I believe that Joilet is merely an extension to the ISO9660 format... a windows-oriented fs like the original Rockridge extensions package originally devised for Un*x.  It has built-in support for 8.3 filename generation and would thus, be completely accessible by DOS, given a modern-esque cd driver.  Of course, that is if you like filenames like MYSTUF~01.ZIP Wink
