MOVING installed apps to new drive?

I have my OS on one drive C:

and my programs installed on other drive D:

Can I move them to the C: somehow?
so I can ghost image  the drive with everything on it ???

I have tried to do this, and there are prgms to help, such as DriveMapper, which comes with Partition Magic. See the bottom of this page:

http://fdisk.radified.com/

But I've found that it never really works 100% .. you always have problems. I wouldn't do it. If you want to run prgms from your boot partition, you really need to install them there.

But maybe your luck is better than mine. I guess you could try to move them and see how it works.

Hi,

You might consider this suggestion:  your programs probably need backing up less often than your OS and your data.  So I think it's better to keep programs on the d: drive.
