Restore Disks with Ghost 2003 -- CD Drive Problem
Nov 26th, 2003 at 2:21pm

Hello,

I hope someone out there can help me.  I'm making restore disks using Ghost 2003.  I am restoring from a CD drive with a bootable CD containing my Image file.  However, the system contains 2 CD drives and I'd like to be able to place the restore disk in EITHER CD drive to start the restoration.  Is there any command line syntax that will allow this to happen?  Currently, my command line for the source (SRC=) is:

@CD1  (followed by the file name)

When I use this I can only restore from one of the drives.

If I change it to:

@CD2

Then I can only use the other drive.

If I change it to:

@CD

It behaves like @CD1.

I'd like to have Ghost 2003 look at both drives and determine which one contains the bootable CD.  Is this possible?  And, how, if so.

Thanks!

Bingo!  That did it.  Using @CD0 allows me to restore from either CD drive.

Thanks Dillon.

Yeah, if you look at the code in the autoexec.bat file in the "SCSI boot floopy" posted here:

http://radified.com/Files/

.. it should contain code that references both CD0 and CD1.

Thanks for the input Radministrator.

I'd also like to thank you for your great Ghost Guide and for hosting this forum.  Without either, I'd still be stuck on page one!
