Unhandled exception in IEXPLORER.EXE (URLMON.DLL)
Feb 9th, 2004 at 11:20pm

Does any one out there know what is going on with my system?
I have been trying to check out memory upgrades on Crucial.com.  Each time I select a MoBo from the drop down menu and click on the "Go to step 2" button I get an application error IEXPLORER.EXE message that says the instruction at (hex #) reference memory at 0x00000000 the memory could not be read.  Cancel to debug.
It is debugged in Visual C++ and I get
Unhandled exception in IEXPLORER.EXE (URLMON.DLL)
0x0000005 Access violation.

This has never happened at any other site before.  Is it me or is it the crucial site that is messing up?

Do you have any proprietary software installed from your ISP? Sometimes ISPs offer 'special' software versions that are supposed to assist browsers, but actually do more harm than good, and can generate these quirky problems.

If not, and if it only happens at that one site, I would guess it's them, not you.

My Internet site-specific anomalies were worked around (not solved!) by the suggestion from a tech at my ISP to download just the Mozilla Navigator and place a shortcut on my XP desktop so I could go into action with it whenever a difficulty arose.  It's a free download, I keep it on standby while I typically use IE6, and when I need it - then, it works for me !!!
