Please tell me your average cpu temp

I am trying to get myself to a point where I can just relax, for the most part about my "Prescott".(please!, uncontrolled OUTBURSTS of laughter will be ushered OUT!)
Or make the decision if its not already too late, to simply switch it for Northwood(much as I hate to call it a "lost"cause!)
I had originally settled for knowing that my temp averaged 37c but now its averaging 49c which i cannot stand the idea of getting "used" to
If anyone could calm my nerves for me with some wisdom, Oh how happy I'd be! (naturally)
I realize the stock heatsink might rival the job being performed by this watercooler, or it may not, I am not really interested in THAT as much as a solution so I can move on.
I may be alright , just knowing (from experience) that my mb's facility to SHUTDOWN when overheated is fully operational , but no such .. uh no such empathy here. sorry. I have to be involved.
So please those who are conscious,(most people do not even know what their average temps are; I remember that era) I am asking what is an average or as far as your experience, the typical operating temps, are.. what?
thanks
thank you

Which Prescott do you have?
If you scroll down about 3/4 the way down this page
http://users.erols.com/chare/elec.htm
you'll see max temps listed for Prescotts, which is somewhere between 68 and 73 degrees C.
Very few people own Prescotts, so you won't get much feddback.
