Scsi raid on a  eXtremeRAID 1100

here's what i have

1  eXtremeRAID 1100
2 seagate ST336704LCV drive's 80pin sca
2 SCA 80/68 Adapter, U320 U160 LVD Ultra320 Low-Profile
1 SCSI  Wide Ultra160/Ultra3/Ultra2/Ultra LVD/SE 2-Device Internal Cable W/Terminator

problem is the drive's are not seen in raid. when you hook one drive up to the card it is seen as a LC drive not LCV then when you reboot that one drive's shows up as dead, and this happens when you hook any of the two drive's up in single format. any idea guy's  what it could be
