Weird things creating backup file using Xp2003
Sep 30th, 2005 at 4:44pm

I have just acquired a brand new Sony Vaio Laptop S4XB.  I have nver had so many problems with it.

I am trying to ghost my windows OS.  I get into a problem there.

When the backup is created, the PC reboots as per the norm, and goes in to the DOS environment, and shoudl create the ghost.

When it enters the DOs box, the PC locks up completely, and nothing happens thereafter.

If i reboot pc back to windows, the PC locks up again, no windows.

I load a boot editor, and ghost has created a new partition on the drive, and moved the boot drive, and changed the drive letters.

I thus delete the partition, and windows starts normally.

So i cannot use Ghost 2003.  I would love to cause i use it all the time, and know it well.

I have tried version 9 and that works ok, but that works while in the windows environment, so these issues dont arrise.

Can anyone help me please
thanks
