Ghost 8 and Win ME
Jan 30th, 2006 at 3:51pm

Hi all,

I've installed Symantec Ghost Corporate 8 on a virtual machine with Win
Server 2003 installed and I've prepared another virtual machine with Windows
Millennium to see how works ghost and plan the environment in production.

On the server I installed the console instead on the client I installed the
client and "connected" it to the server.
I tried to create an image and everything worked well.
I also restored the same image back to the client and it worked very well
and fast.

Then i prepared another machine (this time REAL) with Windows ME, connected
it to the network and installed the ghost client.
From the server console, i decided to restore the previously created image
on this new client:
-the client reboots
-starts pc-dos
-loads the Symantec environment but it does not go on. It remains on a
windows with the blue background, the grey window ("Symanetc Ghost 8.0") and
the icon with the sandglass.

If I restart it with the reset button, it restarts PC-DOS and continuosly
writes "Sending status to SERVER" ... but it dos not go on.

I don't know why with the Virtual machines everything goes well ...
(everything was the same, also the media I used to install windows and ghost
..)

Thanks in advance for any suggestion

Bye bye
