Not staying logged in anymore
Feb 14th, 2006 at 8:17am

Since the change of server, I have had to re-log in every day. The "always stay logged in" box is still checked.

Anyone else?

Christer

I had to log in twice last week when Rad was transitioning to the new server--the *cookie* information must have been changed by that move.  But it's been fine since then.

Have you done anything to effect how your browser handles new cookies vs old cookies?

No question is stupid...but, possibly the answers are  Wink !

Nope but there was some trouble with my broadband connection. Should have no impact, though.

Still getting logged off on an irregular basis. Nothing critical but annoying.

I haven't had any issues like that.  The only thing I've noticed is the huge speed increase from the old server.

Reset your browser to defaults and adjust your cookie settings and let us know if that changes anything.  I'm interested...

Hi MrMagoo!

My browser runs at default settings. I visit several sites with "stay logged on" function and this is the only one that kicks me out. It started after the changes to RADIFIED and no changes at my end whatsoever.

I will try logging off and then back on to see if that helps.

Thanks for your interest,
Christer

The reason it started when the site was moved is because you need a new cookie since the site is located on a new server.  It still sounds to me like something is not allowing you to save the cookie.  I assume you have a firewall - Could that be blocking you cookies?  What about privacy software?

Try logging into another site like netvibes.com and see if it saves your login.  Then we could narrow it down to your computer specifically or this site specifically.

There are some 10-12 sites on which I stay logged in when I return, no problems unless a forum upgrade or something like that.

Two web based e-mail clients kick me out every two or three weeks but that's a security thing, I believe.

One has never been able to keep me logged in and that's Photobucket. It says that I have to allow cookies and I do.

Now, RADIFIED kicks me out on an irregular basis and I don't think that the problem is at my end.

(A week ago, I had trouble with my broadband connection, computer and telephone. The support guy tried to give me the usual run-around, shifting cables, turning stuff on and off. I told him that he should start running around and that he could drop me an SMS when the problem was fixed. A few hours later, I received the SMS and it worked again.)

Thanks,
Christer

I have checked my cookies folder and the one from RADIFIED:

When I log out, it gets deleted. When I log in, it gets added again. When I mark forums read and or close the browser, it does not get updated. When I return, it does not get updated.

Compared a few other cookies and they get updated with activity.

Be nice to support guys.  They deal with a wide range of people.  Undecided

I'm stumped on your login.  Anyone else have trouble with it?

I don't get kicked off, but everytime I leave the forum, I have to log in to get back on.  Earlier this evening, I deleted all my cookies (talk about a headache) and logged back in, but when I left and came back, still had to log on.

Maybe I have been using the wrong words (kicked out) to describe the situation so, to avoid any confusion, I don't get logged off while on the site but when I return, I have been logged off. The same as thorin but on an irregular basis.

Some boards will require you to logon again if your IP changes. I don't know if this one uses that criteria or not.  But I experienced that once on a different board when I had a wireless connection.  Everytime my wireless connection dropped or changed, I had to relogon.

Just an idea.
