Incompatibility between Ghost and Diskkeeper?
Mar 16th, 2006 at 5:17pm

I'm got a FLASH drive on eval and thought that using Ghost 2001 would be a time saver in replicating the original filesystem onto the FLASH drive. THe orifinal HDD is 100% OK, we just need something more resilient to shock and vibration.

We periodically use Diskkeeper 9.0 for defraging, and allow Diskkeeper adjust the MFT size.

While configuring Ghost to create a HDD disk image, it reported an error reading the MFT. I'm wondering if Diskkeeper might be the source of this error?

Are you aware of incompatibilities between Ghost and Diskkeeper? What do you think?

Henry, I realize that it is not an equivalent situation, but I use Ghost 10 and Diskeeper 10 and have experienced no conflicts.

I recommend that you run all disk diagnostic utilities you may have, including “CHKDSK /R”, to verify the integrity of the hard disk drive.
