Ran across this and it might offer another alternative using the DOS Ghost 8.3 version:

You can start the DOS Ghost without the built-in USB support by using the command line:

*Ghost.exe -nousb*

This is supposed to disable Ghost's built-in USB support--which means it should not interfere with the Panasonic USB DOS drivers--that might allow you to avoid the lockup when Ghost is loading.

I'd be interested in your results if you give it a try!

B1212,

Did you try both BartPE and ReatogoXPE? Although less sophisticated, BartPE boots quicker.

Sorry!  Got busy with other projects after being on vacation for Memorial day.  Haven't had a chance to get back to this.  We are plugging along with our One-Touch II drives and just using the PS3200 as "archive storage" for the time being.  Will get back to you as soon as I can.  -a.

I have tested Ghost 8.3 on an old pc P3 and P4 with IDE harddisks

that works with a Maxtor PS 3200 !!!

Could it be a problem with the SATA disks and usb ?

It appears that the Maxtor PS 3200 uses ATA HDD's and not SATA--so I'm assuming your comment about *a problem with the SATA disks and USB* is in regards to a system that uses SATA HDD for its internal HDD's vs a system that uses IDE-ATA HDD's.

amber5465 appears to be using systems that use IDE-ATA HDD controllers.

If you have a system with SATA HDD controllers, you could try the *-noide* switch to see if Ghost can communicate successfully with SATA HDD's.

Ghost can comunicate already with SATA hdd's witout setting the option -noide

The problem is that when i connect the Usb Harddisk, to a system whit internal sata hardisks ghost can't find the usb harddisk but ghost  finds the internal  Sata haddisks whitout a problem

But when i connect to a system with a ide Ata system he finds the harddisk and the USB harddisk maxtor ps 3200

b.t.w im using ghost 8.3 it came with  ghost suite 1.1
