install ghost client
Aug 17th, 2006 at 6:14am

I installed Ghost 2003 Enterprise Console Client but, it does not put any shortcuts in my Windows Start menu. I followed the tutorial step by step, but I still have no shortcuts.

As the tutorial included with the software makes extensive usage of those shortcuts, I don't know where to start.

After installing, my computer name is enlisted on the server, but from where should I start making the images of my drives?

Possibly related: I also had trouble as computer I installed the client on had 2 Network Cards, and Ghost Installer kept saying it will use only one network driver, but did not mention which one of the two. I solved it by manually removing one of the netcards and reinstalling Ghost client.

Confusion factor--*Ghost 2003* refers to the *retail* version of Ghost--no *Console Client* terminology is used with it.

*Enterprises Console Client* terminology is used in the *corporate* version of Ghost--most commonly versions 6.x through 8.xx.

Sure sounds like an install issue--may want to uninstall and re-install.  Look for options asking if you want to create a program group in the Start Menu--or look for option for a *custom installation* to see if that gives you any such options.

Did all the program elements get installed to the system in a program directory?  Potentially, could create your own shortcuts!?

As you say, you *solved it* by removing the one card--so it should have nothing to do with the *shortcuts missing* problem.
