Norton Ghost 2003 and SATA Hard Drive

Any suggestion on how to run Norton Ghost 2003 on a new SATA 250GB Hard Drive, to create an image of C: on another partition for backup recovery. Problem: computer locks up during pre DOS boot up. Thank you. Mark
