Schedule quiet run
Dec 28th, 2006 at 11:52am

I am using Norton Save & restore. I have scheduled a backup and when the NSR backup runs it shows on the desktop. Is there any way to have it run in the background and not be seen?

I have just started using NSR so i'm sure I will have more questions.

Just a correction. What I meant was when the backup starts I get a popup in the lower right corner asking if I want tor run the backup Yes/No. It won't start until I click yes. How do I get it to run without this added step?

Im new at this so bear with me.

andy32901,

I haven't heard of your problem before. Strange. I'd start by deleting your Scheduled Backup (the schedule not the backup) and creating another.

Sometimes you need a logon password for a scheduled task to work.  Something to consider.

Talk about jumping the gun.  I checked when the backup is starting and the popup does appear, for about 10 seconds, then fades away. Then it starts running normally. It is a Norton popup. I don't know why it even shows up because the backup starts anyway.
I was watching the screen the first time it ran and I thought it woudn't do anything unless i picked "yes". I was too quick.

Thanks Brian for you quick reply. Next time i'll wait a bit when i'm not sure.

The best problems are those that fix themselves. I'm glad it was that easy.
