A Bootable DVD for Ghost image with SATA support
Feb 17th, 2007 at 10:53pm

Follwing the steps of Creating Bootable CD/DVD's Without A:\Floppy Drive here I have successfully built a bootable DVD with our Windows Xp Operation Environment image moved there. It has been working very good. However, our shop has purchased a couple new Dell systems all with SATA DVD Roms and hard disks. The bootable DVD, with the image in side, was built based on Ghost 2003. How can I create another bootalbe DVD which can support SATA hard disk deployment?

Radified Forum Member *ben_mott* posted this information about a new DOS driver that works with the new SATA optical drives, and apparently is backward compatible with IDE optical drives as well:

Ghost 7.5 SATA CD-ROM

Download *gcdrom.sys* here!

Some additional resources:

GCDROM for DOS

I don't have SATA optical drives to test this out--report back with the results of your efforts!
