why didn't incremental backup work?
Apr 30th, 2007 at 2:17pm

I did a backup on a computer that had a full backup (001.) plus four incrementals (001.001-001.004). When the backup started up it said it was comparing the drives. Instead of making a fifth incremental (001.005) it made a new full backup. (002.) This was using ghost 10. Any idea why an incremental backup wasn't made?

Larry, Ghost 9/10 does this if it feels too many changes have occurred since the last incremental recovery point. You may not feel much has changed but Ghost says, "What does Larry know?"

A shutdown due to power loss will do it too.
