Board Time

Is there any user board options to set? The board time is one hour ahead of swedish time (daylight saving no longer in effect).

I found it ... Embarrassed ... Profile > Modify > Options!

It was set to GMT/UTC +1 which is correct and to "Enable automatic Daylight Savings Time change" but ...  Undecided ... it is one hour ahead.

You won't be able to do anything about that.  I took a peek inside the YaBB source code, and while it uses GMT for many functions, it determines whether or not it's daylight savings time by calling the perl localtime() function.  IOW, the YaBB program doesn't store any rules about when DST begins/ends, it just gets that from the server.  So the rules that are going to be in effect will be based on where the radified server is located--i.e., US rules.  Your time is going to be an hour off for two weeks, until the new US and Swedish rules come back into sync.

have you gone off DST, or have we?

okay, a search says we go off 1st sunday in november:

http://www.wane.com/Global/story.asp?S=7276910&nav=0RYb

so you must've gone off today. we have a 2-week delay.

interesting research into the source code.

Thanks guys for the explanation, I thought it might be something like that.

In Europe (with the exception of Iceland who is always on GMT/UTC) DST is in effect from the last Sunday of March until the last Sunday of October and all countries within the "union" change at the same time.

Small correction to my earlier post: we're out of sync for just one week.  I thought the new US rules affected two weeks in Spring and two weeks in Fall, but it looks like it's three weeks in Spring and one week in Fall.
