Ghost image, multiple partitions
Dec 30th, 2007 at 9:29pm

Hi

I have Ghost 2003 installed in WinXP, P4 socket 478.

Ghost 2003, only sees the first 3 partitions in Windows mode (there are a total of 5 partitions). It is a 160 Gig WD hard drive and was partitioned simultaneously using WD software (all NTFS).

I tried to back up the C & D drives as I have Windows and programs respectively.  I wanted to put the image in the 5th partition - but it only sees the first 3.

I ran utilities on the HD - but no issues were found neither any improvement.

Thanks

Well...that doesn't sound good!

In the Windows Ghost interface, when I choose *Ghost Basic / Backup*, my *Disk 1* lists 8 partitions:  1 NTFS, 2 Hidden, 4 FAT32, and 1 FAT16

So, if your installation is not picking up all the partitions--I would have to say your installation has not run correctly.  And, I do not know of any way to change the situation short of recommending un-installing and then attempting to re-install to see if the second time proves to be the charm!

Let us know how it goes!

http://www.postbox.wanadoo.co.uk/benwin98boot.exe
boot with windows 98 boot disk
and then put another floppy with GDISK.exe on
then type
GDISK 1 /status
and enter on key board

see how many partitions it shows.
here is a live linux CD with partition magic called Pmagic on
http://partedmagic.com/
it might be help full and it is FREE
