USB DOS driver is NOT needed for image creation/restore?
Feb 2nd, 2008 at 9:03am

hello everyone,

I recently made a bootable cd of ghost11.02 using a win98 boot image. There is only the boot sector of win98 image and the data sector of ghost.exe on the bootable cd. I was able to save/restore my c:\ drive image to a maddog external usb hard drive (and the external drive is NFTS!) WITHOUT any usb dos driver! I could not see the external hdd under the dos prompt but can have access/write to the external usb drive from within ghost program (the dos version of ghost.exe)!
people please report here if you have the same experience!

You are correct!

Ghost 11.x is the corporate (enterprise) version--it's a much larger program than the last retail DOS version Ghost 2003--Symantec added the USB built-in access to one of the Ghost 8.x releases--the version prior to Ghost 11.x.  (Ghost 9.x and 10.x were used for the non-DOS version of the retail Ghost releases!)
