Remote Computer with XP Home

I am trying to connect two XP Home (workgroup) SP2 systems. I've tried this with Ghost 12, Ghost 14 and Backup Exec System Recovery 8 installed with all features. I have temporarily turned both firewalls OFF. I have listed the remote computer (pentium) on the controlling computer's (athlon) computer list. When I try to connect pentium to athlon, I get the following error: "you will not be able to connect to the network unless you enter a valid username and password". I have entered the username as pentium\administrator and every combination I can think of. Still the same error.
All three programs require that 'Simple File Sharing' be turned off, however, as you all know, in XP Home, it can't be turned off. I suspect that controlling a remote computer running XP Home is not possible but shouldn't that be mentioned in the 'System Requirements'?
