Where ya been? I missed you.
Are you rocking back & forth yet? =) Chanting?
Now that YaBB v2.2.1 has been released, it's safe to try out some mods:
http://www.boardmod.org/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=newsy22 (final release mods)
http://www.boardmod.org/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=beta_y22 (beta mods)
Besides the one mentioned in this thread, I also installed the new & improved "Advanced" Quick-Reply mod. That's the box at the bottom. It now retains any configuration adjustments you make .. such as box size (height & width), and even the TEXT-size changes we tried so hard to incorporate. (I prefer 13px.)

But the main thing I like about this Quick-Reply mod is that it comes with a Quick-Quote feature .. called "Mark & Quote". Simply highlight the text you want to quote and click Mark & Quote .. and Presto! » your quoted text magically appears in the Quick-Reply box below. Very nice and easy to use. But the quick-quote feature only works with the Quick-Reply box (I think).
I also installed a "Reputation" system (Karma Points) .. called YaRS .. Yet another Reputation System, which has been out for many revisions, so it seems fairly well developed. More here:
http://radified.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1206684490The entire YaRS mod can be disabled with a single click .. if we find we don't like it. It gives people a formal (fun?) way to express gratitude. If we had installed this earlier, you would probably be leading in the Karma category, since your posts are so helpful.
I even installed a supe'd up Email notification (still in beta, v0.5a) .. which John requested. He likes it and says it works good.

I also installed a patch-mod (also in beta) which fixed the quoted-text problem we had with quotes that were made with YaBB v1.x script:
http://radified.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1203620358Upgrades to the forum script usually mean I have to re-install all mods (which suks). But now that the boys at YaBB are focusing all the attention on developing Y3.0 (which will come with support for databases), it's safe to try out a few mods .. which might eventually become standard features in upcoming releases.

Overall, the forum appears to be running stably .. and it's especially nice that nobody is complaining we're using "excessive server resources". I would've never dreamed of installing these mods at Lunarpages, for fear they'd pull our plug.
