How can this work ?
Apr 2nd, 2008 at 6:36pm

Can someone explain to me how it is possible with ghost 14 to create a reliable image of the c drive (windows boot) from windows, while doing other things at the same time... I am used to work with Ghost 8 where in order to create an image, we have to boot from dos then start ghost.exe so with ghost 8, we were sure that they was no activity on the disk, but with 14, creating an image from a working windows environnement, i realy do not understand

The process is called "hot imaging."  Please review this thread, and post any additional questions you may have.

This has been the subject of much discusssion. I discuss hot imaging here:

http://ghost.radified.com/norton_ghost_90.htm

With that said, I have used Ghost 12 to both create and RESTORE an image (now called a Recovery Point). It worked.

I create images only after a fresh reboot and I do nothing while imaging, and I wait until after the disk activity light stops flickering. To make it easy as possible for Ghost.
