Service Cannot be Started in Ghost 9

I've started getting the message "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
Can someone explain what this means and how I might fix it?
I have gotten the message "service cannot be started" before, but all I had to do to get around it was to click "reconnect" several times, and all became well. Now, it will not connect no matter how many times I try.
Thanks,
Dave

Well, I "fixed" it by uninstalling then reinstalling Ghost. But, if anyone knows the answer to the original question, I would sure like to know what it is.
Another, possible related question is how to configure ghost so that it only runs when manually started... no icon in the tray, but still functional when started.
Thanks,
Dave

type "msconfig" and hit enter key
go to 'services' tab and remove check mark next to "norton ghost"

OK. Did that. Now the original problem is back with the message "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
Once upon a time, this worked, now seems like I have to have the tray process for it to work at all.

It's disabled. You disabled it.

dbird,
What I do is msconfig, Startup tab. Remove the tick from GhostTray.exe. I think you have to leave the Services tab alone although I haven't experimented with that tab.

Bingo! Services on, startup off. Works perfectly now.
Thanks!
