Error Number: (19330)
Jul 14th, 2008 at 5:12am

I have Windows 2003 Enterprise Server with Exchange 2003. The server is Dell PowerEdge 1800 with Dell PERC 4/SC RAID controller and has 3 hard disk with RAID-5.

Recently, got the error with hard disks and I want to clone the hard disks.

Since I can't use DOS version of Ghost, I used "BartPE" to boot the server machine. Though I placed the correct driver of Dell PERC 4/SC RAID controller before I build "BartPE", when I run "Ghost32.exe" from BartPE, I found the disks but when I proceed it, I got the error 19330.

OK, so that's not an error from the consumer versions of PowerQuest V2i, that's an error coming from genuine Ghost (should really be in the other forum).

That error means that Ghost is having trouble because it thinks one of the partitions on the disk is FAT-formatted but it also doesn't have the right signature codes for what kind of FAT partition it is (FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32) and that reminds me of an old problem where the Dell Utility partition on some models was formatted in a nonstandard way by the tool Dell was using to manufacture them.

From memory, the versions of Ghost in the GSS2 series has a workaround for this if my memory is correct as to the cause (I'll check with the cloning lead who worked on the problem I recall when he gets into the office, it's ~1am local time here so it'll be a while) so you might need to upgrade to a more current version.

In fact, I used Ghost Solution Suite Version 2.0.

Okeydoke, I haven't yet been able to grab any time with the other dev in question, so just to check what precise version of 2.0 do you have? There have been two LiveUpdates since the original release (to 2.0.1 build 1533 last year and then to 2.0.2 build 1573 this year and a small server-side hotfix just after GSS2.5 shipped).

The fix to deal with the invalid BPB layout in the Dell utility partitions went in July last year, so it's in 2.0.2 - get the LiveUpdate to 2.0.2.1573 and install it (and optionally the build 1598 hotfix which is a simple server patch).

If it still happens after this we'll look into it further but this sounds exactly like that issue.
